On this album, composer Christine Ott tells a cosmic journey with cinematographic colours entirely played on the Ondes Martenot. The album has been produced by Paul Regimbeau (Mondkopf) and Frederic D. Oberland (Oiseaux-Tempete). Almost a century since its invention by Maurice Martenot in France in the early 1920s, the Ondes Martenot has changed contemporary music as one of the very first monophonic and experimental synthesizers in history, combining electronics and mechanics.
Consecrated by the avant-garde composers Olivier Messiaen, Edgard Varese, Andre Jolivet, Tristan Murail, Giancito Scelsi and Bernard Parmegiani, the mysterious and sensitive vibrations of the instrument have been heard in popular music (Leo Ferre, Brian Ferry, Tom Waits, Radiohead and Daft Punk to name a few).
