Popis - INEVITABLE REMIXES -HQ- [VINYL]:
All India Radio revisit their 1999 debut album and John Peel favourite ‘The Inevitable’ with this limited edition vinyl remix album! All India Radio’s music can be heard in CSI: Miami, One Tree Hill, Bondi Rescue, The Recruits and many more. The band’s video ‘Rippled’ from their most recent album ‘The Silent Surf’ has been nominated for an AFI award and has gone viral on Youtube. Another video ‘Lucky’ was a top 3 finalist in the 2010 Guggenheim Museum Biennial of Creative Video. The band are currently recording their next album. All India Radio’s Martin Kennedy says: 'I don’t know what planet I was on in 1997-98, but the first version of The Inevitable was poorly mixed and full of legally questionable samples. I had no idea what I was doing. On strong advice from my publisher I removed the samples (but not without trying to get permission: a copy made it all the way to the Bee Gees. Barry said nice album, but no) and the album was released in November 1999. I assumed the album would sink without a trace so I was pleasantly surprised when John Peel gave it a thumbs up and started spinning it regularly. ABC Radio National used some tracks as background music in their programmes and it was requested for use in a swag of TV shows and short films. But I was never completely happy with the recording. Eleven years later, I finally decided to revisit it. If you are a fan of the original album I think you will enjoy this remixed version. I haven’t messed with it too much (didn’t want to do a George Lucas!) I used the original 32bit minidisc multi-tracks and I haven’t tried to disguise the imperfections. I’ve added extra beats in some songs and bass and guitar parts where necessary, and ditched some crappy drum machine sounds. Then I remixed it with a little more attention to detail than the first time around. I wanted to change the sounds without affecting the emotional experience. I hope I have achieved that.' Original album reviews: “All India Radio triumph with The Inevitable. It is old school ambient music...reminds us of the KLF’s brilliant ambient effort “Chill Out”, The Inevitable is a truly imaginative piece of work. Well worth the trip” - Beat Magazine “Soulfully composed” - Rolling Stone “It’s the kind of music that comes to you in dreams and to hear it actualised is really quite spooky “- Inpress Magazine “Some albums come out of nowhere and escape all attempt at classification. The sound - definitely ambient- is lo-fi and low key: guitar, drum machine, sound sampled in India, plateaux and many space effects. Somewhere between languid opium moods and desolate landscapes, high art and Paris Texas.” - Open Mag, France
