...SOULFROM THE VAULTS OF SCEPTER, WAND, DYNAMO & MUSICOR)'. - Scepter/Wand and Musicor/Dynamo were the happening independent labels in New York City in the late 60s, pulling recordings from all over the USA into their Big Apple melting pot. 'Dynamic Grooves' captures 21 of the finest moments. The compilation includes many tracks that have never been reissued before, such as rarities from Billy Clark & The Maskmen with the funk monster 'Soul Party', The Endeavors with their Northen/funk crossover 'I Know You Don't Want Me' and Joe Arnold's Memphis groove 'Soul Trippin'. Wand Records' relationship with producer Allan Toussaint provides four big slices of New Orleans funk, including the all-time classic 'Funky Belly' by Warren Lee and Toussaint's own take on 'Workin' In A Coalmine'. Earl King's rare 'Tic Tac Toe' features both The Meters as his backing band, while Johnny Moore's 'A Dollar Ninety Eight' is taken from master tapes for the first time ever. Classics include the amazing 'Speed Up' by Betty Moorer, two cuts from the Backyard Heavies and the Memphis grind of Chuck Jackson's 'Candy'.
