This is a collection of acoustic guitar instrumentals written over a period of years on the road in hotel rooms, at home on the roof or up a tree, wherever I had access to a guitar. I had the choice of either teaching my idiosyncratic fingerpicking style to another guitar player or recording everything myself. Finally, here's the result: 13 of my tunes ( and one by my wife, Sheila). I tried to keep everything acoustic, but sharper ears will hear some electric bass and sampled keyboard. There is one totally unaccompanied guitar solo ( Lydian Rag) and one solo until the fade (In A Circle) when a woodwind quintet joins in. Well, not a traditional woodwind quintet: flute, alto flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxello. I had a lot of help from my friends in Orlando, chief among them, my good friend John Marsden. Engineer, producer, studio owner, keyboard player, composer: he does it all. I truly couldn't have finished this project without him. Also my band, The Kings: Tommy Calton, guitar ( on The Greens he uses the Weaseltrap Harmonic Capo and plays the trade offs with the flute), Steve Sienkiewicz, keyboard ( accordion on Dream Waltz) and Cadillac Cardarelli, drums ( drums on something, I forget). Larry Jacoby played bass on my first CD and plays acoustic bass on Rave on, Little Stevie, Your Basic Eb Blues, Cold Love, and something else). Cameron Brown played flugelhorn on Cold Love and Prism Sky. My old friend Russell Buddy Helm was visiting from California and played Djembe on Shiva Dance and Across The Water (also pedal tambourine).
