The main nucleus of this band first came together in 1978 after the explosion of Punk'. They embraced the DIY-ethics, but felt they were slightly too old to show the true spirit of PUNK ROCK! When Punk was waning a new scene was smouldering. Post-Punk was born and The Lucys had found a scene they could identify with. As 1979 ended, the band felt at home and they adopted the slogan 'Rhythm for the 80's' due to them having two bass guitars, percussion and drums which was a very unique line up. As this scene spread, other bands sprung up like Delta 5, The Raincoats, Scritti Politti, Au Pairs to name a few. They were quickly picked up by Cherry Red records and recorded a full length album in 1981 after doing a session for the late John Peel. Sadly the album never came out and laid unreleased until NOW!
