The Creation was an excellent British mod/freakbeat unit which,
back in the '60s, released two LP's on the German Vogue/Popp
label. The band's single 'Painter Man' (covered by a.o. Boney
M!) became a hit in several countries. Presented for the first
time are the complete Creation studio recordings. The tracks
have been remastered from the original tapes by Shel Talmy, and
were given fresh stereo mixes. New essays by Dean Rudland and
Alec Palao tell the band's story and previously unpublished
photographs adorn the accompanying 80-page hard bound book. The whole package is rounded out with four tracks by pre-Creation freakbeat quartet the Mark Four, making 'Action Painting' the definitive collection of this legendary UK band.
