The 'Meridian' and 'Green Fingers' EP's marked the transition from This Heat to Camberwell Now. Both EP's were concerned with information technology, surveillance, propaganda and what drummer/vocalist Charles Hayward describes as "day-to-day, hand-to-mouth survival". These were relevant issues in a fractured Britain under the rule of Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher, and they may still be relevant today in a recession-hit, isolationist Great Britain.
