Spanning the entire Gainsbourg canon, this collection ranges from existential chanson to yé-yé and beyond, performed, not inappropriately, by a stellar all-female cast, including Juliette Grco, France Gall, Brigitte Bardot, Franoise Hardy, Jane Birkin, Catherine Deneuve and Vanessa Paradis.
The booklet features a fascinating essay by Gainsbourg's biographer Alan Clayson and track commentary by compiler Mick Patrick, with a foreword by featured artist April March.
