The second album by a Dutch band that was quickly branded the Dutch counterpart to Broken Social Scene after they released their debut LP. While these freshly baked songs emit the same uninhibited zest, Wooden Saints sound far more consistent, more pronounced than ever before. On stage, the band members still swap instruments and vocal duties on a whim, always performing the rootsy indie-pop with that blithe, frolicsome glimmer. At times, Wooden Saints courts the realm of psychedelica, only to subsequently opt for Beatle-esque pop craft or alluring Motown-vibes.
