Breaking Cover ( IOL 0230) came out in 1981 on limited edition vinyl with hand printed cover art. It was the 3rd Nigel Mazlyn Jones album released on Isle of Light Records.
With some similar themes to the first two albums but exploring instrumental collages of sound with the tracks Kelda Warsore and Water and Stone it features seminal drummer Guy Evans of Van Der Graaf Generator, Colin Brown and Kevin McLea (Barclay James Harvest and Kate Bush session players), Chris Kerridge, Eric Hansen and Rob Lloyd. This album marks the beginning of NMJ breaking out of the acoustic genre and exploring wider dynamics and musical collages.
