Popis - PRODUCT OF IMAGINATION:
If there's some kind of a substance making bands into legends, Paradox knows the recipe. The German power/speed/thrash phenomenon is to this day considered one of the most important bands of the late 80's metal scene, achieving their status by merely two records, both best described as epic. 1986 brought the beginning of Paradox and the group's first demo tape sent to Roadrunner Records who decided to sign the band for a worldwide record deal. Paradox recorded a second demo in early 1987, "Mystery", which was selected "Demo Of The Year". After such a successful start, Paradox was ready for a debut album. "Product Of Imagination" proved to be a brilliant album, conjoining the thrashy riffs in the likes of Nuclear Assault or Metallica with a melodic approach known from bands such as Judas Priest and Helloween. Overall, the LP delivered a greatly balanced thrash and power metal combination. The press instantly loved the release, giving it highest notes and nicknaming Paradox "Germany's no.1 Newcomers". The intense success of "Product Of Imagination" made it possible for Paradox to concentrate on touring and promoting the album. Various live shows were executed across Europe (next to bands such as Tankard, Drifter, Overkill, Helloween), with the highlight festival performances at "Dynamo Open Air 88" in Eindhoven and "Festa Avante" in Lisbon, both proving Paradox's immerse skills in playing live shows. Soon after the tour ended he band suffered their first major line-up change. With a refreshed line-up, Paradox began working on their second LP in January 1989. "Heresy" was released by Roadrunner Records in November 1989, instantly receiving great acclaim by Japanese Burrn magazine, followed by praiseful reviews in German and Greek press. Things started to get difficult for the band - more line-up changes and growing differences with the label eventually led to Paradox's dissolve in the end of 1989. The band was put on hold for almost ten years, until in 1999 when Charly Steinhauer decided to reactivate Paradox with Kai Pasemann and two new musicians - Oliver Holzwarth on bass and Alex Holzwarth on drums. In August 1999 the world witnessed the official return of the band, who played an intense show at the "Wacken Open Air" festival. In May 2000 the band signed a deal with AFM Records, who released "Collision Course" in August. After just one performance at the 2001 "Bang Your Head" festival, Charly Steinhauer was forced to struggle with problems in his personal life, including numerous cases of death in his family. All this was followed by a severe intestinal disease, which was the reason for countless operations, leading almost to Steinhauer's death. It took Steinhauer over four years to finally overcome the sickness. In September 2005 he began planning a second comeback of Paradox along with Kai Pasemann. The band returned on stage in August 2006, during the "Keep It True IV" festival, where they played an intense show for their die-hard fans, prov
